The city of Aswan is bigger but much calmer than Luxor. It is one of the nicest cities of Egypt and the most southern placed along with some of the best stretches of the Nile, where this one becomes more wide and splashed with small islands, with high desert hills crowned by the Mausoleum Aga Khan like backdrop.

One of its most out-standing islands is the island Elefantina. Aswan is a typical tourist destination from the XIXth century. Due to its closeness to the Tropic of Cancer, Aswan in warm and dry during the whole year.

The natural Aswan beauty is its main attraction. The granite formations in the shore, the small islets in the center of the river and the luxuriant palm trees add delight to the city.
