Temple of Dakka

The Temple of Dakka, dedicated to Thot, was placed approximately to 100 kilometers to the south of the prey of Aswan (Nubia), although most of these ancient grounds is covered by the lake Nasser.

Dakka

Dakka was known by the Egyptians like Pselqet and by the Greeks as Pselchis. It begun being constructed by king Meroitic, that the Greeks were calling Ergamenes, about 220 B.C. Nevertheless, this date has been very controversial.

Because of the imminent floods provoked by the presence of the prey, the temple it was moved to the-Sebua, about 40 kilometers in north direction, between 1962 and 1968. The Dakka temple is the only temple of Nubia which front is faced to the north.
