Aswan
Aswan is to the south of Egypt and has a population of approximately 150.000 inhabitants. This frontier city has one of the best emplacements in the Nile. Normally, in Aswan the deserts melt with the river, giving like turned out a spectacular scenery.
Formerly, its name was Syene. It was a very small place, but with a big scenery next to the Nile. In Aswan the life was slow and relaxing. Normally, the days can pass giving long walks, observing the sail ships pointing at the sky with its masts, or sat in floating restaurants, listening to music and eating fresh fish.
In the city of Aswan, the Nile takes its best form, flowing for the color desert amber and the rocks of granite. You can explore the zoco full of color, spices, perfumes, clothes … Also you can see the spectacular puttings of the sun, with a tea in the patio of Old Cataract Hotel. Aswan has been one of the tourist winter complexes preferred from the beginning of the XIXth century, and it is still a perfect place to move away from everything.
The season is one of the main determinants of the level of activity of the people. Aswan finds sow of the Tropic of Cancer, therefore normally it is warm and dries, with an average of daily temperature that it goes from 23 to 30 grades in winter and from the 38 to the 54 in summer. We recommend the autumn and the spring: there are the best stations to visit the city, since this one is less crammed than in winter and, of course, much less than in summer, where the long siestas, the cold showers and the air conditioning are necessary.
